District-Wide Comprehensive Planning

Thank you for visiting our district's comprehensive planning site.
The Union City Area School District is committed to continued growth and collaboration through PDE's comprehensive planning process. During the 2021-2022 school year, our Steering Committee reviewed and developed our 2022-2025 Comprehensive Plan. This plan was shared with our School Board of Directors, faculty, staff, and community in the Spring of 2022. Beginning July 1, 2022, our plan was publicized for its 28-day review period prior to Board approval in August. In August, our plan was Board-approved and submitted to the Pennsylvania Department of Education. You can view the UCASD Comprehensive Plan for 2022-2025 and our required reports via the attachments below.

What is Comprehensive Planning?
Planning for continuous improvement of leadership, teaching and learning is critically important to ensuring that all students have access to a world-class education that prepares them for college, career, and life.  Pennsylvania’s cycle of improvement is grounded in evidence-based approaches that can both improve student outcomes and increase return on investment, as resources are spent on programs and practices likely to have a positive impact.  Opportunities to create, assess, and adjust throughout the cycle empowers local education agencies and schools to engage all stakeholders in pursuit of a shared vision for student success.

What does the process and timeline look like during a planning year? How can I get involved next time?
We are always looking for volunteers to serve as stakeholders on our planning team. To get an idea of what the process looked like this time around, check out the tentative dates and descriptions of the process from the 2021-2022 planning year as well as the parent/community stakeholder flyer we used to advertise the process:

Our next plan will be developed in 2024-2025 for implementation during the 2025-2028 phase. If you are interested in getting involved, reach out directly to me via my contact information below or a building-level administrator. We look forward to going through this process with you again in 2024-2025!
